Below is the “Introduction” to a new multi-part study series I’ve titled “The Five Solas.” This is an updated and expanded edition of the series I wrote a few years ago.

In this series I cover a most interesting and critical topic and time in history. “The Five Solas,” are brief Latin phrases that summarize The Five Foundational Doctrines that were recovered by the Protestant Reformers of the 13th-15th centuries (i.e., Wycliffe, Luther, Zwingli, John Knox, etc.).

This series is intended for those who are willing to have their Christianity seriously examined in the light of Bible truth alone.

These truths were and are in stark contradistinction with “the State Church of the Roman Empire ,” which “Emperor Constantine the Great” had established beginning in 313AD. Thus we will of necessity cover some of the history of “the Christian church,” warts and all, Roman and Protestant, contemporary and institutional. We will see the root source of the many unbiblical traditions and practices of today’s organized Christian church.

Please know that I believe genuine Christian believers exist within most every Christian denomination and many are outside the confines of the organized churches. This study is not to attack anyone’s religious beliefs or any church but rather this is an exploration of “church history” that will heighten the Truths that the genuine believer needs to know and believe of the Bible if he is to be saved and a secure, and then grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.

Jesus offered up His blood and life at the cross to redeem and reconcile mankind unto His own self. Understanding and trusting the truths of the “Five Solas” will permit us to live the Christian life in the rest and peace that Christ’s purchased for us.

As always, my goal is for genuine believers to become established in “the faith” of “the gospel of the grace of God” that Paul was given to bring to us in this age of grace.
